At Silkworth Group, we believe wholeheartedly that recovery is about being able to live life and not exist with what was an extremely chaotic, unhappy and disfunctional life.
Being part of a strong, recover community is what nurtures recovery; the more we talk about it, the more the message starts to filter throughout society, whether that be from the perspective of a recovering alcoholic / addict, a family member, or a significant other. We have touched the lives of thousands of people, both directly and indirectly, through our various treatment options and outreach services (for individuals aged from 7 years old, up to 80 years old.) This is something we are extremely proud of, as this ultimately helps grow a strong, recovery community.
It cannot be underestimated the value of hearing an individual’s lived experiences. It is often those experiences that will encourage others to get the help they need, as well as help the community as a hole, understand the illness of addiction. Sharing a lived experience from the heart, is the true and real version of that persons journey, which is why we learn and gain so much from hearing and reading such experiences.
