20/03/2024 A Lovely Warm Man, and a Loving Human Being

It is with great sadness we share the news of the recent passing of Steve Dowd, a man who was such a big part of Silkworth and the Recovery Community here in Jersey. Through his passionate recovery, he was able to share wisdom and hope with so many people, often not even realizing he was doing so. People would source him out to sit and talk to him for his wisdom and his great attitude to life and recovery and it’s a legacy that lives on with so many.

Whilst illness and poor mobility stopped  Steve from being out and about as much in the last couple of years of his life, He remained a true advocate of recovery and a true friend of Silkworth, never forgetting ‘ The Little House of Miracles ‘ where his recovery journey began.

“He was a lovely man, a warm and a loving human being. There was not a cross word in him.”

Frank Laine MBE, Silkworth Chairman

His funeral will take place at 2.30pm on Wednesday 27th March at the crematorium followed by a gathering at the Radisson Hotel.  The family would love as many people as possible to be there in celebration of his life.
